Say Hi to Jesus!

Lily is our little artist.
She LOVES to draw...and she is VERY good at it as well.

This is far from her best work. This is just something she drew today.

Lily has to draw with a pen. That is her tool of choice.

Lately, I have had a problem with Lily drawing on her hands and arms.
Last week, she came to me with her hand behind her back. She says to me "I draw Jesus on my hand!" Before I could say anything, she quickly pulls her hand out from behind her back, puts her hand out as if she is waving and says "Say hi to Jesus!"

How do you get mad at that moment? I was shocked at first...then found immense humor in the whole thing.
This is now my favorite Lily moment of all time.

.Lily the Computer Monster.

.Oh My.

Lily continues to pick up on EVERYTHING that we say.

She even uses the phrases she picks up correctly most of the time as well.

One Saturday morning, Lily joined Aaron, Greyden and I in bed. She snuggled in between Daddy and Greyden.

I was just laying there, enjoying my 2 sweet babies when Greyden launched his spit-up right into my face.
Without missing a beat, Lily just looks right at me and says "Oh my!"

Yes Lily...that's exactly what I was thinking. :)

.Baby Lily is 2!!.

Time sure flies...when you are having fun!!

Lillian is SUCH a handful, but she makes it worth it with her crazy little personality.
I feel like one of the luckiest people ever to have this little monster call me Mommy.

Lily LOVES to learn. She will make you repeat songs over and over and OVER until she at least has some of it memorized. Then she makes you sing it again, just so she can sing along with you to the parts that she knows.

She can count to 10 and can identify about 75% of her letters. When you point to the letter B and ask her what it is, she always starts off and says it is "D". She will do this 2 or 3 times until you call her on it and say "You know what it is!" then she immediately corrects herself and says it is "B".

Lily loves to say the same thing over and over and over...even if she knows you are paying attention. It can be pretty funny at times.

We go to Aaron's Grandparents house fairly often. She also happens to adore her Great-Grandpa Cutler and always sneaks upstairs to see him as soon as we arrive. Whenever we are driving in the car and drive past ANY houses, she always say "Go to Gamma Gampa's house?"

We celebrated her 2nd birthday along with Mother's Day this past Sunday.

Lily has an obsession with Minnie Mouse right now. She was so excited when she saw her cake.

My beautiful girls with their Minnie Mouse ears.

Lily's car from Uncle Tenney and Gma & Gpa 'chilles.

Lily's other obsession...bike!! She hasn't got the pedals figured out quite yet and she gets VERY frustrated that she can't do it. Thanks to the weather warming up, she can get PLENTY of practice.

I am excited for the adventures this next year will bring with our crazy Baby Lily.

.Kitty VS Kitten.

Aaron and Lily were reading an ABC book this morning.

They were working on the letter K.

They were naming all the items on the page that began with the letter K.

They came to, what the book had named, a kitten.

This is how the conversation went:

Aaron: (pointing to the picture) Kitten!
Lily: (also pointing to the picture) Kitty!
Aaron: Kitten.
Lily: Kitty
Aaron: Kitten
Lily: Kitty (still in her cheerful voice)
Aaron: Kitten!
Lily: (points to it again and turns and looks at me) Mommy...Kitty?
At this point, I couldn't help myself. This was getting too funny.
Leah: Yes, Lily. Kitty.
Lily: (smiles and points to the picture again) Kitty!

.We Have Progress!!.

I may be a bit too excited for my own good...but for Lily, this is big!

She just woke up from a 3 hour nap...completely dry!

So we rushed to the potty and she immediately went #1.

I can't believe how well she has been doing with her potty training. Aaron and I have given her a little push and then let her do the rest at her own pace. Some days she does really well and goes in the potty most of the day. Other days, like yesterday, she refused to go to the potty all day except for once.

I think she is starting to catch on pretty well and recognize when she has to go now.

.Oh Da Man!.

Lily still refuses to go #2 in the potty.

Earlier today, she went poo poo in her diaper.

As I was changing her, I said "Lily! No poo poo in your diaper!"

Her response..."Oh da man!"

Lily's version of "Oh man!"

.Who's Training Who?.

Lily's potty training has been quite interesting.

Her manipulation skills are quite advanced for her age.

She has definitely learned that whenever she goes in the potty, she gets a piece of candy. So, she does just that...whenever she wants a piece of candy.

She REFUSES to go potty anywhere but on the big girl potty. While out running errands yesterday she started frantically yelling "Go Potty Mommy! Go Potty!" So I rushed her into the bathroom at the mall and she went. Then while at Michaels last night, she did the same thing and went potty just like a big girl.

She still tinkles in her diaper or pull-ups a few times a day and won't go #2 in the potty yet. It is OBVIOUS she gets the concept and that she knows the feeling of when she has to go potty.

As Lily does, she is just taking her sweet time and doing it her way. One of the many ways she reminds me of her Daddy. :)

.Potty Mommy! Potty!.

I have been hearing that ALL morning long.

We haven't had a single accident all morning long.
I am sure that has everything to do with Lily saying she has to go potty every 15 minutes. Then she tinkles the tiniest bit just to get a candy. (Which is truly all she probably can do at this point. I am surprised she has anything left to put in the potty after how many times she has gone!)

I started this morning by calling Lily in to the bathroom after Brookie went this morning and we all got a candy for Brookie going potty. Every since then, Lily has been going like a champ! Brookie loves it too, since we all get a piece of candy every time Lily goes potty.

The funny thing, Lily won't go on her Elmo potty. It HAS to be the big girl potty, WITHOUT a special potty seat. She has to be just like her big sister.

So far, so good. We will see if things continue to go this well as the day and week progress!

.It's Potty Time!.

Day #1

This was taken right AFTER she sat on the potty and BEFORE her accident.

This could be Day #1 of MANY Day #1's. I remember that it took a few breaks and then trying again until Brookie was completely ready to be potty trained.

So here it goes!!

Yesterday was the first official Day #1.
It started out with me putting Lily on the potty and keeping her there for 15 mins.
In those 15 mins she refused to do anything, but talk.
Finally, I decided that maybe she just didn't need to go. So I walked her into the bedroom with me, grabbed a shirt and went to put it on her. As I got it over her head I felt a massive amount of wetness falling on my foot. So I grabbed Lily, ran her to the potty and sat her on it. Once again, she refused to do anything. Most of it ended up on my foot and the floor.

Let's hope Day #2 goes MUCH better!

.I Can Help Mommy Too!.

This is how Lily helps put away laundry.

I guess Daddy's shirts belong in the bathroom sink now.

.Hi Daddy!.

Lily has a new obsession...

Talking on the phone.

Her FAVORITE person to call is Daddy. If I am on the phone at all during the day with him she HAS to say hi to him. If she doesn't get to, she has an epic meltdown and then will steal my phone trying to call him.

The funny thing, she usually succeeds. She knows EXACTLY where to find the call list on my phone and can somehow pick out Daddy's name among them. It's usually at the top, but even if it isn't she can call him most times.

She doesn't just like to call Daddy, she likes to talk to everyone. So if you start receiving random calls from my phone and think I may have "butt dialed" you...I probably didn't. You probably just got "Lily dialed".

.My Favorite Age.

I can honestly say, that Lily is right in the middle of my favorite age. I would say from about 18 - 24 months is definitely my favorite.

They are learning SO much it is hard to keep up with.
They have the ability to LEARN so much it is hard to keep up with!

Lily copies and remembers just about everything she hears. She can speak in 3 - 4 word sentences very easily.

My favorite things she says right now:
"I'm coming Mommy!" whenever I call her name and tell her to come here.
"Good Job Mommy!" this one usually comes after I use the potty and she comes in and shuts the lid and flushes it for me. ha ha
"Come on Daddy!" she loves to yell this one when we are waiting on Daddy to come up for dinner.
"Night Night my bed!" when she is REALLY tired she will run to her bed saying this while whining.

There are tons more and I could spend all night listing them. She just sounds SO cute saying everything right now. I wish this stage lasted forever!

A random little story I forgot to post about...

Lily has been getting really good at her letters. She has a few favorites. One of them happens to be W.
A few weeks ago, Lily and I went to WinCo after dinner. It was darker outside so their letters were lit up really bright when we got there. Before I even got her out of the car she starts screaming with excitement "Double Y!! Double Y!!" which is how Lily says W. The entire way into the store, until the W was out of site, she kept telling me about the "double y".

.Epic Meltdown.

This is a MINOR version of Lily's famous "Epic Meltdown"

.Breakfast of Champions.

Lily is definitely a good eater.
An entire bowl of oatmeal doesn't even satisfy her.

.Our Little Nerd.

Or shall I say...Nerds LOVER!

All those little colored specs on the floor are, you guessed it, Nerds!
